Financial Russification of Schools (1978–1983)

The Soviet Union introduces a system of direct material incentives for assimilation. Russian-language teachers are given artificially created financial privileges (a 15% salary bonus), classes are divided into groups for better mastery of the language of the metropole, which is officially proclaimed the language of the "friendship of peoples"[1].
