DECOLONIAL.IST is a knowledge base of Russian colonialism. We document the tactics, techniques and procedures of colonization, drawing on the real historical experience of the peoples subjected to Russian aggression. The knowledge base serves as a foundation for critical analysis of history and for uncovering the mechanisms of the colonial paradigm that are still in use today.

By releasing this project, we pursue our mission of decolonizing knowledge. We strive to give an independent voice back to the peoples and societies that suffered from colonization, and to make it possible to look at the empire through their eyes. DECOLONIAL.IST is open and free to use for any person or organization.

DECOLONIAL.IST builds on the structure and ecosystem of MITRE ATT&CK – the industry standard for threat modeling and the classification of malicious behaviors in cybersecurity.
