Pylyp Orlyk's Campaign in Right-Bank Ukraine (1711)
A military-diplomatic attempt to restore Ukraine's independence by the forces of the emigration with the support of allies. The campaign failed because of a stab in the back: "the Tatars, disobeying Orlyk, scattered in raiding parties and began taking yasyr captives across Ukrainian villages"[1].

The collapse of the anti-Moscow coalition from within: on the Right Bank, the Tatar allies betrayed the Cossacks and turned to seizing the civilian population – "the Tatars, disobeying Orlyk, scattered in raiding parties and began taking yasyr captives across Ukrainian villages"[1]. Orlyk himself wrote to the Swedish king: "What atrocities unheard of under the moon did the wild Tatars then commit!"[1].
The empire's forcible retention of the Right Bank: the Bila Tserkva fortress with its Muscovite garrison held out, and the campaign collapsed after the Tatars' betrayal – "Orlyk retreated without taking Bila Tserkva"[1], and his army disintegrated.
